Job Title:                      Sales Associate


Job Description: To provide prompt, courteous, professional consultative service to all customers while entering store, requesting refinish products, or carrying out cashier duties. This includes prompt recognition and assistance with customers, providing product advice, and soliciting sales when necessary. Also responsible for ensuring that store merchandising and pricing standards are maintained according to the franchise guidelines. 

Reports to:       Retail Store Manager/Supervisor

General Responsibilities:       
  
  • Provide highest standard of courteous service to each customer.
  • Acknowledge and recognize in a friendly manner, customers as they enter store, or approach the terminals.
  • Responsible for receiving and responding promptly and professionally to customer inquiries made either by telephone or in person.
  • Offer assistance to customers in locating items and provide consultative advice on items (i.e., benefits of product, alternatives, use and application, etc.). Solicit additional sales by “suggestive,” “related item,” “substitute” or “up-selling” techniques as appropriate.
  • Responsible for providing feedback and recommendations to Retail Supervisor/Retail Manager on improvements to operating standards and practices.
  • Responsible for identifying and notifying supervisor (written in lost sales booklet) of items that customers requested and were not in stock (“lost sales”).
  • Merchandise and replenish items in the Retail Store, ensuring all items are correctly priced with Automotive Art price barcode, and sections are well stocked at all times (Includes taking inventory, identifying missing stock, assisting with replenishment orders and restocking and merchandising products.
  • Ensure that all items required for merchandising have adequate stock level e.g., scanning plates, hooks, sales tags, labels etc.
  • Accountable for ensuring that store area, shelves and products are clean and well merchandised per franchise standards at all times. (e.g., dust free, properly labeled, products are fronted, faced and rotated).
  • Work with Sales Representatives to create/build displays for product promotions.
  • Ensure that all fixtures, and promotional signage, used in the Retail Store are refurbished as needed, to maintain and enhance the overall visual impact of the merchandise displayed.
  • Acquire and maintain thorough product knowledge of merchandise in the Retail Store.


Cashier Responsibilities:
 
  • Greeting customers in a professional and courteous manner, to enquire who assisted them, and if they are satisfied with their shopping experience.
  • Carry out sales transactions in a prompt & accurate manner, in accordance with approved cashier counter sales handling procedures, such as not changing salesperson ID number on any given transaction, once in a live transaction.
  • Responsible for funds received during shift and for completion of shift reports and preparations of bank deposits.
  • Responsible for ensuring that cashier/customer service area is clean, neat, and orderly at all times.
  • Thank customer, in a friendly and professional manner, for shopping at Automotive Art.

Additional Responsibilities:
 
  • To assist in the processing of customers’ orders for automotive paint using equipment and according to franchise procedures for colour matching.
  • To assist in ensuring that the paint room area, work top, floor, walls, mixing computers and mixing bank are neat and clean at all times.
  • To assist in cleaning and maintaining equipment in proper working order as per franchise procedures.
  • To assist in ensuring that paint room tints are stocked at all times i.e., includes taking inventory, identifying missing stock, placing replenishment orders and restocking & merchandising products.
  • Notify Retail Supervisor and/or Retail Manager of any problem areas (e.g., inventory losses, suspicious people in store, procedures not being followed etc.) that may be observed.
  • Adhere strictly to all franchise service, housekeeping, security, safety, code of conduct, uniform standards, operating practices and other rules and policies as developed or amended from time to time.
  • Develop and maintain a team working relationship based on mutual respect for other employees.
  • Responsible for performing duties in a safe manner.
  • To fulfill other responsibilities or tasks as assigned by the Retail Supervisor and/or Retail Manager.
