Warehouse and Logistics Assistant
Reports to: Warehouse Supervisor
Purpose of the role:
The Warehouse and Logistics Assistant supports daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, picking
and dispatching goods, and undertakes driving duties for deliveries, collections and stock transfers as required.
Warehouse duties form the main part of this role, with relief driving cover provided as needed.
Main responsibilities:
Assist with unloading and receiving goods; check quantities and condition against documents and promptly
report shortages, discrepancies or damage.
Put goods away promptly in the correct locations and maintain clear labels, orderly storage and safe access
to stock.
Pick, check and prepare customer orders, store replenishments, service centre requests and inter-location
transfers accurately and on time.
Ensure stock movements have the required documents and authorizations; complete records promptly and
accurately, including system entries where assigned.
Assist with stock counts, pricing, barcoding and investigations of stock discrepancies.
Load and secure goods carefully. Drive company light goods vehicles for assigned deliveries, collections and
transfers, including relief for the regular driver.
Check delivery goods against documents with the receiver, obtain signatures and return delivery records
promptly. Report delivery problems to the Warehouse Supervisor.
Carry out routine vehicle checks, keep vehicles clean and report faults, damage or incidents promptly. Drive
only vehicles covered by your license and company authorization.
Operate a forklift only after appropriate training, assessment and company authorization; follow equipment
checks and safe handling procedures.
Keep warehouse areas clean, organized and secure; follow inventory controls, manual handling procedures
and protective equipment requirements.
Work cooperatively with other departments, treat customers professionally and perform other reasonable
duties related to warehouse and delivery operations.
Essential requirements
A valid driving license permitting the operation of light goods vehicles, with the ability to drive safely and
responsibly.
Reliability, punctuality, honesty, a positive attitude and willingness to follow instructions.
Basic literacy and numeracy, attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate stock and delivery
records.
Ability to undertake warehouse work safely, including handling goods with suitable equipment and
assistance, and to work effectively in a team.
Additional assets:
A heavy goods vehicle driving license; forklift operating experience or relevant training; previous warehouse,
stock handling or delivery experience; and familiarity with inventory systems.
